Ling joined DArT in 2003 as a research technician. She was initially involved in developing DArT microarrays for sorghum, cassava and rice. Her responsibility today is to perform DArT DNA sequencing services.

Originally from China, Ling holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and masters in analytical organic chemistry and in physical organic chemistry from China and the UK.

In 1999, Ling completed her PhD in fatty acid synthesis at the Australian National University, then continued there with her postdoctoral fellowship.

She has settled in Australia with her husband and two sons and enjoys life with family and friends.
