Genomic data production

Produce, manage and share genomic data for biodiversity, ecology and research projects with DArT.

Cost-effective genomic data production

Microarray-based DArT was  the first cost-effective genotyping technology that detected all types of DNA variation (SNP, indel, CNV, methylation). It was invented in the late 1990s by Andrzej Kilian, to overcome some of the limitations of other molecular marker technologies such as RFLP, AFLP and SSR.

Since 2010 all DArT genomic technologies are based on “Next Generation” sequencing technologies. This offers capacity to generate genome profiles at any resolution or scale.

Genomic data production for
breeders farmers agriculture

In the agricultural area, our services are used to assist with the development of plant breeding programs, generate new varieties of crops that are better suited to local growing conditions, identify crops for appropriate distribution across countries and regions, and determine the performance of crop systems.

While we have a strong focus on international agriculture, our contribution to food security extends to supporting private and public organisations in the developed world, including services to multinational corporations.

By applying DArT’s technology to ecology, biodiversity conservation and resource management, we can precisely measure the population size and dynamics of species (including many endangered species), analyse invasive species, and work with mining and resource companies on the ecological analysis and management of existing or planned resource extraction sites.
