Claire joined DArT in March 2010 as a lab technician. She mainly works with the microarray platform and develops protocols for DNA extraction from different species and tissues.

Claire obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from Guangxi University in China, in 2005. In 2007, she completed her Master Degree in Biology from the Australian National University followed by her honours in 2008 with Dr Nijat Imin on gene expression in rice anther under stress conditions. In 2009, Claire worked in Dr Nijat Imin’s lab as a technician assisting the study of growth factors in Medicago.

Both Claire and her husband feel quite settled in the quiet city of Canberra. They enjoy gardening, cooking and dancing.
