I graduated from Kasetsart University (Bangkok, Thailand) in 1995 with first class honours in Bachelor of Science (Agriculture). I then worked at the Plant Genetic Engineering Unit (Ministry of Science Technology and Enrolment) as a research assistant in the project entitled "Improvement of Thai chilli for Virus resistance by gene transfer techniques". In 1997 I was appointed by Department of Plant Pathology, Kasetsart University, as Lecturer.

I received a Rockefeller Ph.D. fellowship in 2001 to study at The University of Sydney (Australia) and conduct my Ph.D. project at CAMBIA/DArT under the supervision of Dr. Andrzej Kilian and Dr. Peter Sharp. My Ph.D. project is involved in both DArT technology for the whole-genome analysis and transgenomics of rice.
