I joined DArT in 2003, I have been primarily engaged in the development of DarT for cassava and sorghum. I have been currently involved in the provision of the genotyping services for barley, wheat, rice and sorghum.
I received a Bachelor degree in chemistry, and a M.Sc in analytical organic chemistry from the research centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Later I received a second Masters in physical organic chemistry from the University of Durham, U.K. In 1999, I completed my Ph.D at the Australian National University, where I successfully synthesized several nitro-analogues of natural polyunsaturated fatty acids that have significant pharmaceutical value. Thereafter, I continued my research at ANU as a postdoctoral fellow on the synthesis of the biologically important vitamin B12 derivative, glutathionylcabalamin and kinetic studies for its formation.
