I joined DArT P/L in 2002. My role currently includes the provision of genotyping services for barley and the operation of our high-throughput laser-scanner. I have been closely involved in the development of a genotyping service for apple, and as a member of the DArT team continue to provide general support for service provision and technology development.
I graduated from the Australian National University, where I studied a Bachelor of Science in biology. My main areas of interest at university included plant science, genetics, molecular biology, and systematics. After graduation, I worked for 2 years as a cytogeneticist with ACT Pathology, performing diagnostic cytogenetic studies for patients in the Canberra region.
My interests at work and outside of work are related to plant biology broadly, and more specifically, to the use of cytogenetic studies and tissue culture methods for plant breeding and plant systematics investigations. I am also currently developing my skills in electronics and computer programming.
