I joined DArT in 2009 as a programmer and I am now working on developing data analysis tools for

  • microarray data
  • marker-trait associations
  • marker grouping and ordering.

I earned my PhD in physics in 2003 from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada for theoretical and computational studies of hot plasmas. Plasmas are scientifically interesting and complex because they probably make up 99% of our whole universe.

After several years of studying the interaction of very intense laser-light with plasmas and continuing to develop computer simulation codes for supercomputers and  at the Ecole Polytechnique in France,

I came to the Australian National University as a research fellow to learn about Data Mining and magnetically confined plasmas in the plasma research laboratory and with Markus Hegland from the data mining group.

I am interested in all sorts of complex systems and worked as the Data and Visualization officer for the Australian complex research network. The network offers unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research, teaching and business interactions.

The book of a summer school in December 2008, I co-organized with Bob Dewar will be available soon (Mar 2010) here.
